Militia ng Bayan surrenders in Bayog to support PH government

Fourteen former Militia ng Bayan members from the upper barangays of the Municipality of Bayog took their “Oath of Allegiance” and received cash incentives from this LGU on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Municipal Government Building

The local officials of this town led by Mayor Leonardo L. Babasa, Jr. and representatives of the Department of Interior and Local Government and Philippine National Police witnessed the said ceremony.

Mayor Babasa appealed support from the said members to help the Philippine government promote lasting peace through vigilance and coordination with proper authorities in terms of the presence of imminent danger brought by the rebel groups.

The act of surrendering of the said Militia ng Bayan members was the initiative of the 44th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army based in Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay. - Bernadine A. Gabawan, Municipal Information Officer
