Bayog celebrates Women’s Month
The Municipality of Bayog celebrates Women’s Month on March 27, 2018 at the gymnasium with the theme “We Make Change for the Women” attended by at least 1,000 members of WEMRIC from the 28 barangays of this municipality with the local officials headed by Town Chief Executive Leonardo L. Babasa, Jr. and Vice Mayor Celso A. Matias.
Honored guest was Hon. Aurora E. Cerilles, Congresswoman, 2nd District-Zamboanga del Sur (ZdS) who was accompanied by Ms. Terence Pulmones, ZdS WEMRIC Federated Provincial Chairman, Hon. Gelly Cagas, SB Member-Dinas, ZdS/WEMRIC Provincial Auditor, and Ms. Mahleen Bersales, Provincial WEMRIC Focal Person. Mayor Babasa in his message gave emphasis of what women can do to make change after he shared a Jordanian quotation from Ranya Al Abdullah which states “If you educate a woman, you educate her family, if you educate a girl, you change the future”. Further he stressed that women plays an important role to make change for the good of our community and to our country as well.
After the messages, the Pinakbet Cooking and ZAMBOROTIC Modern Dance Contest followed set by Bayog WEMRIC Federated President, Jocel Loriche Babasa participated by eight (8) competing teams.
