DTI holds orientation on consumer’s rights

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) holds orientation on Consumer’s Rights last March 21, 2018 at the Ground Floor, Bayog Municipal Government Building attended by 60 participants (businessmen, students, teachers, and government employees) with facilitators Ma. Dinah M. Villena, Sr. Trade & Industry Development Specialist, and Jo Nico B. Locson, Trade & Industry Development Specialist.
Facilitators discussed thoroughly the topics like consumers’ rights and protection against hazards to health and safety, protection of consumers against deceptive unfair and unconscionable sales acts and practices, provision of information and education to facilitate sound choice and the proper exercise of rights by the consumer, provision of adequate regis and means redress; and involvement of consumer representative in the formulation of social and economic policies.
Towards the end of the orientation a very timely topic was tackled where most of the participants can relate. This includes “How to protect yourself against online shopping fraud, text scams and agencies to approach” - Bernadine A. Gabawan, Municipal Information Officer
