OWWA gives assistance to Bayog OFWs
Bayog OFW Officers with LGU Officials and personalities from OWWA after the Oath Taking.
Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Region 9 gives cash assistance to 300 Bayog Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) on February 24, 2018 at the Municipal Gymnasium during a simple program with the theme: “Abot Kamay ang Pamilyang OFWs” who were affected by Typhoon Vinta last December 22, 2017 where active and inactive OFWs received P3K and P1,500 each respectively.
Present during the occasion were Mayor Leonardo L. Babasa, Jr. together with some SB Members, John Lino N. Tingcang, CE, PESO Manager and personalities from OWWA Angie Encalla - Program and Services Head, Manolo Gallebo - Admin IV and Maricis Abastos – Family Welfare Officer.
There was a short program prior to the distribution where Bayog OFW Officers took their oath. On the other hand, OFWs of the Municipality of Tambulig also received the same assistance since only Bayog and the latter in the Province of Zamboanga del Sur declared their town as in the “State of Calamity” during the said typhoon.
